Book with Kevin Maloney

I began my life in Eugene, Oregon, where I currently live and practice massage and bodywork. My passion for soccer, cycling, running, and disc golf are what inspire me to focus my life's work on physical and athletic function.

My studies began in 2006 at Lane Community College where I successfully completed my Oregon Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) board exam in 2008. Immediately after finishing school I began an apprenticeship with advanced massage instructor, Walter Libby. He humbly taught me even more detail about muscular anatomy, and proportionate treatments of the body! I am ever grateful for what Walter has taught me over the years, and what we still continue to learn together.

Throughout 2010 and 2011 Walter and I attended a series of classes that focused on instructor Jeffrey Burch's osteopathic "functional methods", and "comprehensive visceral manipulation". Coursework included a variety of assessment, and treatment techniques. These are applied with minimal force, to create maximum result! I was fascinated with the work because it involved nerves, blood vessels, viscera (organ support), and many other anatomical structures I formerly thought were un-treatable. The results I see are longer lasting and more profound than muscle work, with effortless power, the set of techniques are a velvet hammer!

I love what I do, and am dedicated to helping others. Since my licensing in 2008 I completed nearly three hundred continuing education hours. I have also received hundreds of hours of body work from therapists whom I look up to and respect for the quality of their work. These experiences make me a better body worker and ignite in me a passion to continue learning!

My studio is in my mother's home. It's the house I grew up in and where my roots grow deeper, as I am a family man with a young son, Silas. He is the light which I draw my inspiration, and the stability to keep me grounded. The studio has undergone a transformation in the last several years, and continues to grow character each day with artwork from my grandpa, an ever-expanding garden, and books accumulating on the bookshelves. This space is a culmination of my dream to be a bodyworker, and I am thankful for each and every one of my friends, family, and clients who have helped me get this far!
